4. Merchant Tools & Infrastructure
PROBLEM
Many crypto payment solutions overlook the practical needs of business owners. Merchants often lack access to integrated tools for tracking taxes, issuing receipts, and synchronizing sales across platforms. Discrepancies between in-store POS systems, online storefronts, and transaction records create friction and reduce confidence in crypto as a payment method.
In most jurisdictions, business owners are also required to report cryptocurrency income and pay applicable sales or goods & services taxes (GST/VAT), just as they would with fiat transactions. However, most crypto wallets offer little to no support for managing these obligations — adding to the administrative burden and slowing adoption.
SOLUTION
THAT is developing a suite of integrated merchant tools to help businesses operate more efficiently while accepting crypto payments. These include:
Built-in tax configuration tools. Merchants can set local tax rates (e.g. GST/VAT) directly within the app and track relevant sales data for reporting purposes. While THAT does not provide tax advice, these tools are designed to support accurate reporting in regulated environments.
Online shopping interface. A fully featured shopping interface allows customers to browse and purchase products or services directly from THAT-accepting merchants.
In-app POS system. A native point-of-sale system within the THAT app enables fast, secure in-store transactions — without requiring third-party hardware or integrations.
By offering this all-in-one infrastructure, THAT helps businesses reduce operational overhead, maintain accurate records, and serve customers more efficiently — all while accepting crypto payments.
