# How to Spend Crypto Through THAT

### Open THAT App <a href="#download-and-install-gem-wallet" id="download-and-install-gem-wallet"></a>

To start spending crypto, you'll first need to set-up and fund your THAT Wallet. If you haven't already done so, you can follow the ['Purchasing THAT'](/getting-started-with-that/purchasing-that/purchasing-that-australia.md) guide to get started.&#x20;

### Browse Business Directory <a href="#download-and-install-gem-wallet" id="download-and-install-gem-wallet"></a>

To find THAT merchants near you, you can scroll the THAT business direcotry. This is located on the home tab on the THAT App.&#x20;

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Press Spend

On the Wallet tab, tap the blue Spend button.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Enter Purchase Amount

Enter the purchase amount in AUD. The app will automatically convert it to THAT behind the scenes.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Scan QR Code&#x20;

Scan the business’s QR code. The business name will appear so you can confirm you’re paying the correct wallet address.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Confirm Payment

Confirm the payment by checking all details are correct, then slide the button to complete your transaction.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Show Business Confirmation Screen

After you submit the payment, a processing screen will appear showing it being submitted and then confirmed. Once confirmed, a green tick will appear — show this confirmation screen to the staff member to finalise the payment.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
You’ll need a small amount of native Polygon (MATIC) in your wallet to complete the transaction. This covers the network transaction fee, which is typically near zero.&#x20;
{% endhint %}
